Anthony Mackay : Painter
Biography and Exhibitions
My background as an architect has given me an awareness of structure, perspective and texture and this underpins most of my work. However, the constraints of architecture have had to be put aside to achieve a painterly looseness in the work and it is this tension which defines my paintings. I hope to achieve a freedom to use colour in non-realistic ways to express the ideas behind my work.
